Le samedi 14 décembre 2013, entre 12-16h, Le Corrid’art présente ses Ateliers portes ouvertes.
19 artistes accueilleront les
gens dans leurs studios, partageant ainsi leur travail avec le public.
Peintres, sculpteurs, artistes de bandes dessinés, menuisiers, artisans et
écrivains ouvrent leurs portes et démystifient leur processus de créativité.
Certaines œuvres seront à vendre, d'autres en exposition uniquement. Parmi les
participants : Adam Leith Gollner,
gagnant du Mavis Gallant Prize du Quebec Writers’ Federation pour The Book
of Immortality, sera présent pour discuter et vendre ses livres; Kate
Puxley, artiste contemporaine multidisciplinaire et taxidermiste,
accueillera les visiteurs dans son monde unique; Petra Mueller, artiste conceptuelle, exposera son nouveau projet
d’aquarelles ayant pour thème: le baiser; Dan
Svatek, batteur pour le groupe The Rejecters, montrera ses plus récentes
bandes dessinés et peintures à huile; et l'artiste en média mixte Heidi Barkun dévoilera ses nouvelles
peintures en cire d’abeille ainsi que ses sculptures, et offrira à la vente ses
cadres et miroirs en bois récupéré.

Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 12-4pm, The Long Haul presents its Open
Studios event.
19 artists welcome visitors into their studios, sharing their work with the public. Painters in oils, acrylics, and watercolours, as well as sculptors, comic book artists, wood workers, crafters and writers will open their dens of creativity and demystify their processes for the public. Some works will be for sale, some just for show. Among the participants: Adam Leith Gollner, winner of the Quebec Writers’ Federation’s Mavis Gallant Prize for Non-Fiction for The Book of Immortality, will be in his studio chatting and selling books; Kate Puxley, multidisciplinary artist and taxidermist, welcomes visitors into her unique world; conceptual artist Petra Mueller exhibits her latest watercolour project about kissing; Dan Svatek, drummer for the band The Rejecters, will be showing off his latest comics and oil paintings; and Heidi Barkun, mixed media artist, will be unveiling her newest wax paintings and sculptures, and selling her reclaimed wood frames and mirrors.
