Le Corrid'art sur les ondes de CityTV! The Long Haul on CityTV!

Le 30 novembre 2013 à 19h sur CityTV, un reportage sur Le Corrid’art sera diffusé à Only in Montreal, une émission qui nous fait découvrir l'unicité de Montréal. Dimitrios Koussioulas et son équipe ont filmé en juin la levée de fonds/exposition annuelle du Corrid’art, et réalisé des entrevues avec plusieurs artistes dans leurs ateliers. Only In Montreal nous emmène à l’intérieur de la communauté du Corrid’art et offre un avant-goût des Ateliers portes ouvertes.

On November 30, 2013 at 7pm on CityTV, The Long Haul is featured in an episode of Only In Montreal, a community program following three hosts as they participate in a variety local adventures. Co-host Dimitrios Koussioulas and crew filmed The Long Haul’s annual fundraiser/art exhibition while interviewing artists in their studios. Only In Montreal offers a window into The Long Haul community, and is a perfect prelude to the Open Studios event.

Expo/Ateliers Portes Ouvertes | Open Studios!

Le samedi 14 décembre 2013, entre 12-16h, Le Corrid’art présente ses Ateliers portes ouvertes.

19 artistes accueilleront les gens dans leurs studios, partageant ainsi leur travail avec le public. Peintres, sculpteurs, artistes de bandes dessinés, menuisiers, artisans et écrivains ouvrent leurs portes et démystifient leur processus de créativité. Certaines œuvres seront à vendre, d'autres en exposition uniquement. Parmi les participants : Adam Leith Gollner, gagnant du Mavis Gallant Prize du Quebec Writers’ Federation pour The Book of Immortality, sera présent pour discuter et vendre ses livres; Kate Puxley, artiste contemporaine multidisciplinaire et taxidermiste, accueillera les visiteurs dans son monde unique; Petra Mueller, artiste conceptuelle, exposera son nouveau projet d’aquarelles ayant pour thème: le baiser; Dan Svatek, batteur pour le groupe The Rejecters, montrera ses plus récentes bandes dessinés et peintures à huile; et l'artiste en média mixte Heidi Barkun dévoilera ses nouvelles peintures en cire d’abeille ainsi que ses sculptures, et offrira à la vente ses cadres et miroirs en bois récupéré.

Le Corrid’art est situé au 450/454 av. Beaumont, Montréal, H3N 1T3.

On Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 12-4pm, The Long Haul presents its Open Studios event.
19 artists welcome visitors into their studios, sharing their work with the public. Painters in oils, acrylics, and watercolours, as well as sculptors, comic book artists, wood workers, crafters and writers will open their dens of creativity and demystify their processes for the public. Some works will be for sale, some just for show. Among the participants: Adam Leith Gollner, winner of the Quebec Writers’ Federation’s Mavis Gallant Prize for Non-Fiction for The Book of Immortality, will be in his studio chatting and selling books; Kate Puxley, multidisciplinary artist and taxidermist, welcomes visitors into her unique world; conceptual artist Petra Mueller exhibits her latest watercolour project about kissing; Dan Svatek, drummer for the band The Rejecters, will be showing off his latest comics and oil paintings; and Heidi Barkun, mixed media artist, will be unveiling her newest wax paintings and sculptures, and selling her reclaimed wood frames and mirrors.

In it for The Long Haul: Park Ex’s artist collective celebrates 12 years of creation with art auction fundraising event

Come help us celebrate a DOZEN years of existence!

Every spring the Long Haulers put on a show that represents themselves as group. This year’s K show will represent 25 Long haulers and 5 friends of the membership. All the art work will be inspired by K words, all at 1 foot square and all 30 pieces will be up for silent auction, with starting prices at $100!

The auction will launch at 6pm with a special guest MC. Although the auction will close at 9pm, the party will go on ‘til late! There will also be raffle tickets for sale with 8 amazing prizes to win, ranging from jewelry, to large format photographs, drawings and more. (See prizes at bottom of this very long post!)

Le Corrid’art célèbre DOUZE ans d’existence! À chaque printemps, les membres du Corrid’art organisent une exposition collective. L’expo K de cette année représente 25 artistes du Corrid’art et 5 invités. Toutes les œuvres seront 12’’x12’’ et seront toutes à un prix de départ de $100! Notre maître de cérémonie ouvrira l’encan à 18h. Bien que l’encan se termine à 21h, la soirée continuera très tard. Il y aura aussi des billets de tirage en vente sur place et 7 prix formidables à gagner : bijoux, photographies grand format, dessins et autres…
